No one is more surprised than I to be starting a business that involves sewing. For years growing up, my mother tried to instill in me her love of sewing. She loved sewing clothes, whether it be fitted jackets and suits for her or dresses for me, including Halloween or theatre costumes for my brother and me. Doll clothes that I begged for were lovingly stitched, albeit reluctantly (right Mom?!). I spent many hours helping to cut out patterns, marking darts, pressing seams, and standing still for fittings (not very patiently I must admit). I learned a lot but never truly enjoyed the process. My interests tended toward baking and embroidery but NOT sewing. Mom and I had a deal: she would do the sewing projects and I would do the baking ones! It’s funny how life sometimes circles you around.
